Nittaya serves to raise funds for those less fortunate by selling vintage, pre-loved and new fashion. A young woman’s desire to help under-privileged orphans in Thailand has inspired the creation of an online fashion boutique with a conscience. Nittaya sends a large percentage of its profits directly to local or international areas of need. The funds raised from this market will support Friends Vision, an organisation building children’s homes in Kenya.

Wheelchairs for Kids is a Rotary sponsored project involving a volunteer workforce manufacturing solid and strong wheelchairs designed to be suitable for use in remote rural areas, where buildings, roads and paths are generally not designed with the disabled community in mind.  In developing countries where health care and other social services are poor or non-existent, raising a child with a disability presents a significant burden to the whole family.  Without a wheelchair, a child can be housebound and a burden for the carer, usually the mother.  In many cases a child intellectually capable of attending mainstream school is denied the opportunity because of the absence of a wheelchair.  The gift of a wheelchair gives twice.  It not only presents the child with freedom, but also frees the mother to work and contribute to the family’s income.  One of these wheelchairs costs $100.00 to build and through the sale of their jewellery thus far the Rotary Club of Dingley Village has helped 145 children become more independent.

Fair trade, hand-weaved rugs, made from 99% recycled materials by a group of local women in Cambodia, Carpets for Communities supports this women empowerment project  by providing them with an income generation opportunity to help keep their children in school, away from begging on the streets. Also on sale on market day will be a range of purses and scarves/sari skirts.
